About Guru Jambheshwar University of Science & Technology

Guru Jambheshwar University of Science and Technology, Hisar, was founded in 1995. The jurisdiction of the university extends to the courses being run in the areas of science, technology, engineering, pharmacy, and management. GJU (nickname) is north India’s first university getting 3rd time continuous ‘A’ by NAAC. Guru Jambheshwar University of Science and Technology, Hisar, was established on 20 October 1995 by an Act of the Legislature of the State of Haryana. It was formally inaugurated on 1 November 1995.

It is named after Guru Jambheshwar Ji Maharaj, a saint environmentalist of the 15th century. The university is situated over about 372 acres. Approximately 200 acres have been developed. The university has seven teaching blocks. There are 149 residential houses for employees. Construction work for staff quarters and sewer lines is in progress. Many more are planned.

The university has the branch of Punjab National Bank with ATM and a post office. The University offers intensive research programs leading to the award of the degree of Doctor of Philosophy in all Departments offering post-graduate courses. Sufficient Laboratory & Infrastructural facilities are available. The registration for research programs is done through the entrance exam and pre-Ph.D. course.
