About TISS

The Tata Institute of Social Sciences (TISS) is a multi-campus public funded research university in Mumbai, India. TISS is Asia’s oldest institute for professional social work education and was founded in 1936 in then Bombay Presidency of British India as the Sir Dorabji Tata Graduate School of Social Work by the Sir Dorabji Tata Trust. In 1944, the institute was officially renamed as the Tata Institute of Social Sciences and in 1964, the Government of India declared TISS as a Deemed University under Section 3 of the University Grants Commission Act (UGC), 1956.

• Candidates should have passed Bachelor’s Degree with minimum 50% marks(45% marks for SC/ST) from any recognized University.

Candidates can fill the Tata Institute of Social Sciences (TISS) NET application form on the official website of the Institute. Here are the steps to be followed while filling the application form. The application can be filled online or offline.

• Visit the official website of the Institute. admissions.tiss.edu.
• Candidates have to register themselves, before filling the online application form.
• Click on “Apply Online”.
• Enter your E-Mail ID, Password, Mobile Number, Captcha for primary registration.
• After registration is completed, a new user ID and password will be generated.
• Login with ID and password and fill the details in the form such as Educational Qualifications, Date of Birth and other required details.
• Upload the required documents as mentioned in the application form.
• Online Payment can be done through Debit Card/ Credit Card/Net Banking etc.

Tata Institute of Social Sciences (TISS) NET 2024 Admit Card

Admit Card of TISSNET will be available for the applicants one week before the exam commences. The Admit Card was released on February 2024. Candidates can download the admit cards from the official website. Admit Cards are not sent through the post, it is only through online mode.
