NEST stands for National Entrance Screening Test for admissions in 5-year Integrated M.Sc Programs at NISER, Bhubaneswar and UMDAE CBS Mumbai. NEST Qualified students are eligible to attend the NEST Counselling. Eligible candidates should attend the Counselling Process (नेस्ट काउंसलिंग) at the allotted Institutes. About University

National Entrance Screening Test (NEST) is a compulsory test for students seeking admission to National Institute of Science Education and Research (NISER) Bhubaneswar and University of Mumbai – Department of Atomic Energy Centre for Excellence in Basic Sciences (UM-DAE CEBS), Mumbai. Both NISER and UM-DAE CEBS were set up by Department of Atomic Energy, Government of India in 2007.

Their mandate is to train scientific manpower for carrying out cutting edge scientific research and for providing input to scientific programmes of Department of Atomic Energy and other applied science institutions in the country. NEST 2020 will be conducted in around 91 cities [see list] across India. The brochure gives a detailed procedure for applying for the test, syllabus of the test and various deadlines.

NISER, Bhubaneswar and UM-DAE CEBS, Mumbai are in compliance with the UGC and Govt. of India guidelines on anti-ragging. Ragging in any form is a punishable offence and hence is totally prohibited on these campuses. NEST Counselling 2024 Schedule

• Candidates who are qualified in the NEST Exam are eligible for the NEET Counselling.
• Counselling will be held in offline mode only.
• The Counselling at NISER, Bhubaneswar & CBS Mumbai Institutions will be conducted at the same time.
• On the appearance of candidates, the Institutes will publish the merit list.

Counselling registration will commence on 2nd week of June 2020. After the registration is completed, candidates have to take a print out of the following :

• Student Personal Details
• Student Medical History
• Format of Affidavit (Anti Ragging) by Student, Parent/Guardian

• After seat allotment in 1st round of counselling, if there are still vacant seats, then 2nd round of counselling will be held.
• The 2nd round of Counselling & Waitlist will be conducted in 2nd week of July.
• Students are advised to follow the Official Counselling Schedule.

NEST Admission Process :

• Candidates have to register and fill the application in order to participate in the Counselling.
• Candidates can choose the Venue of Counselling according to their comfort.
• Candidates who claim for the reserved category should produce the Certificate.
• Applicants should select the colleges and course preferences. Seat Allotment will be done based on the availability of seats and preferences selected by the candidates.
• The Authority will offer the Admission Letter after the payment of a fee.
