About Kalasalingam University
Kalasalingam Academy of Research and Education (KARE), formerly Arulmigu Kalasalingam College of Engineering and Kalasalingam University, is an institute deemed to be university located in Krishnankoil near Madurai in Tamil Nadu, India. Kalasalingam Academy of Research and Education was established in 1984 by the Kalasalingam Anandam Ammal Charities.
“Kalvivallal” Thiru T. Kalasalingam, veteran freedom fighter, was the founder chairman. It was granted deemed to be university status in 2006. In November 2017, following a directive by the University Grants Commission (UGC) to drop the “University” from the name it was renamed Kalasalingam Academy of Research and Education. Kalasalingam Academy of Research and Education was ranked 96 among engineering colleges by the National Institutional Ranking Framework (NIRF) in 2025.

Application process
Step 1 – Candidate Registration
- Enter all the required basic details.
- A registration ID and password will be generated and will be sent to your mobile number.
Step 2 – Filling the online application form
- Log in with the Id and password and fill all the relevant details such as educational qualifications etc.
Step 3 – Uploading Photo & Signature
- Upload scanned Photo and Signature as per the instructions.
- Size of the photo should be between 10KB to 200 KB.
- Size of the signature should be between 10KB to 200 KB.
Step 4 – Fee Payment
- Application fee should be paid through online mode i.e., net banking, credit card, debit card for general candidates
- Through DD mode for those who are paying at the University at Rajapalayam.
Application Fee
- For All B.Tech, B.Arch, B.SC(Agriculture & Horticulture) and PG Courses (Online Mode)- Rs 600/- and DD Mode – Rs 650/-
- Arts (UG Programmes), B.Voc Programmes – Rs 300/-(Online Mode) and DD Mode – Rs 350/-.
Kalasalingam University Counselling – Required Documents
Candidates who will be qualified in the entrance exam will be called for the counselling. Counselling Dates will be announced by the University. The following documents have to be submitted by the university at the time of counselling.
- Entrance Exam Score Card
- Mark sheet of Class 10th as proof of date of birth
- Mark sheet of Class 12th or it is equivalent (if results are announced)
- Passport Size Photos(2 Nos)
