JoSAA is the Counselling Process for JEE Main & JEE Advanced Qualified candidates. To participate in JoSAA Counselling, candidates have to register and fill their choices. The Registration and Choice filling will start tentatively from June 2024.
All JEE Main & JEE Advanced Qualified candidates are eligible for admissions in 100 participating Institutes. Total 7 Counselling rounds will be conducted by the Authorities. Candidates should check their eligibility before applying for the admissions. Eligible candidates can apply for admissions available on the official website of the University (JoSAA 2020 प्रवेश). JoSAA full form is Joint Seat Allocation Authority
About JoSAA
JoSAA is the Joint Seat Allocation Authority which has been set up by Human Resources Development (HRD) to manage and regulate joint seat allocation for admissions to 100 Institutes for the academic year 2024. This includes 23 IITs, 31 NITs, 23 IIITs & other Government Funded Technical Institutes. Admissions to all academic programs offered by these Institutes will be made through a single platform.

JoSAA 2024 Eligibility Criteria
- Candidates should have completed 10+2 from any recognized Board with minimum 60% marks.
- Candidates should be qualified in JEE Main & JEE Advanced Entrance Exams.
JoSAA Counselling Procedure
Candidates should follow the instructions during the registration & Choice Filling. It was declared that the registration process will start tentatively from June 2020.
Registration
Candidates have to register themselves, by providing the JEE Main Roll Number & Password. JEE Advanced candidates can just enter their password to log in. After login, candidates have to provide the details like Gender, Nationality, State Code of Eligibility, Mobile NUmber, Valid Email ID etc. Candidates have to check their details before submitting.
Choice Filling
Once the registration part is completed, candidates have to fill the choices of Colleges & Courses based on Marks obtained in JEE Main & JEE Advanced, Category, Availability of Seats.
Locking of Choices
Candidates have to lock their choices they have filled. Candidates who will not lock their choices last saved choices will be automatically locked when the time window of filling choice closes. Take a print out of the filled choices, for future reference.
Seat Allotment
Seat Allotment of JoSAA 2024 will be held in 7 rounds along with two mock allocations. Seat Allotment will be based on JEE Main & JEE Advanced Scores, Choice Filling & Availability of seats. Candidates whose seats are allotted should download the provisional seat allotment letter. Payment of Seat Acceptance Fee is to be done by the applicants. Candidates have to pay Rs 35,000/- (General Candidates) & Rs 15,000/- (SC/ST/Gen-PwD/OBC-NCL-PwD/SC-PwD or ST-PwD). Candidates who are not satisfied with the allotted seat can go for the following options:
- Floating: This option is for the candidates, who accept the offered seat but look for up-gradation to get admissions in better Institute & Course.
- Freezing: This option is to the candidates, who accept the allotted seat and does not like to participate in further rounds.
- Sliding: If this option used, it will mean that candidates have accepted the allotted seat, however, if admissions are open in a better course in the same institute then he/she will go for up-gradation.
Finally, all candidates have to report at the allotted Institutes, to confirm their admission by paying the fee.
