About Andhra Pradesh Polytechnic Common Entrance Test

Andhra Pradesh Polytechnic Common Entrance Test (AP PolyCET) is conducted by State Board of Technical Education (SBTET), Hyderabad for admission into diploma level programs conducted in Government aided, private, Un-aided polytechnics & second shift Polytechnics run in existing private unaided engineering across the AP state. This examination is conducted once in every year. The SBTET will be released the AP Polycet Notification in the month of March for desirous of seeking admission in polytechnic colleges. So eligible candidates those who are interested may apply online only. AP POLYCET gets conducted each year successfully at various places. Large numbers of candidates apply for this and then appear in this examination. This is one of the most popular entrance examinations within Andhra Pradesh.

AP PolyCET Application Form 2020

Before filling the application form, students are advised to read the prospectus carefully:

  • Students can fill the application form through online mode.
  • The application form will be submitted only through online mode.
  • AP Polycet 2020 application form will be available from the third week of March 2020
  • Students are instructed to fill the application form before the last date, i.e. the second week of April 2020.

Application Fee:

  • The application fee can be remitted through online/mee seva/payment gateway/net banking/Help line centers (Polytechnics).
  • The application fee is Rs. 330 for every candidate.

AP PolyCET 2020 Eligibility Criteria

The eligibility criteria for AP PolyCET 2020 is given below:

  • Nationality: Student must be an Indian citizen.
  • Domicile: Students must have the domicile of Andhra Pradesh state. The student must qualify for the qualifying exam from the schools of Andhra Pradesh.
  • Age: There is no age limit for appearing in the exam.
  • Qualification Criteria: Students must have passed the SSC exam conducted by the State Board of Secondary Education, Andhra Pradesh/ Telangana.
  • Those belonging to NIOS/CBSE/ICSE/ or equivalent exam recognized as equivalent to SSC by A.P. govt must be passed in all subjects including Mathematics, Physics, and Chemistry with minimum 35% marks in each subject.
  • Appearing Candidates: Appearing students also eligible to apply.

 AP PolyCET Exam Pattern 2023

  • Mode: The exam will be conducted in offline (pen-paper) mode.
  • Number of Questions: There will be 120 questions in the exam.
  • Type of Questions: The question will be of Multiple Choice Type questions.
  • Subjects: Subjects asked in the exam are Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics.
  • Duration: The total duration of the exam will be 2 hours.
  • Negative Marking: Each question will carry equal marks. There is no negative marking.

Answer Key

The board will generate AP Polycet answer key after the successful conduct of the examination. Through the answer key, students can evaluate their expected scores in the entrance exam. The answer key will be available one/two weeks before the exam.

Admit Card

Cutoff Marks 2020

In order to qualify in the AP PolyCET, 2020 examination candidates should get minimum cut off marks so that they are eligible for the admissions into colleges.  PolyCET 2018 cut off percentage is 30% marks of total marks i.e; candidates belonging to the general category should obtain 36 marks. However, there are no cutoff marks for SC/ST candidates.

AP PolyCET 2018 Counseling

The AP PolyCET Counselling will begin in 1st week of June 2020. The counseling and seat allotment is a completely online process. So the candidate must register online after counseling information updated on the official website. After that candidate will be called for certificate verification and be exercising the web options. After seat allotment, the candidate can download the seat allotment order and report the college.
