About Indian Agricultural Research Institute (IARI)
The journey of Indian Agricultural Research Institute (IARI), popularly known as Pusa Institute, began in 1905 at Pusa (Bihar) with a generous grant of 30,000 pounds from an American philanthropist, Mr. Henry Phipps. The institute was then known as Agricultural Research Institute (ARI) which functioned with five departments, namely Agriculture, Cattle Breeding, Chemistry, Economic Botany and Mycology. Bacteriology unit was added in 1907. The name of ARI was changed to the Imperial Institute of Agricultural Research in 1911 and, in 1919 it was renamed as Imperial Agricultural Research Institute. Following a devastating earthquake on 15th January 1934, the institute was shifted to Delhi on 29th July 1936. Post-independence, the institute has been renamed as Indian Agricultural Research Institute (IARI).

Duration of course at IARI
As we know that any Ph.D. course will be of a minimum of 3 years and a maximum of 5 years. In the same way, the Indian Agricultural Research Institute (IARI) also offers the Ph.D. course for 3-5 years.
Mode of entrance
Candidates interested to do Ph.D. at this Institute have to get qualified in the entrance exam conducted by the institution. The entrance is of three stages written test, evaluation of academic score, & interview test.
Application process and Fee Details of IARI
Candidates who want admission to any of the Ph.D. courses offered by the Institute need to fill an application form available online only. The students can apply for admission in only one discipline. The nominal charge for the application is 1000/- for general & OBC and 500/- f for SC/ST/PC/CWSF category.

Eligibility Criteria for Indian Agricultural Research Institute Admission
Candidates must hold both graduation and post-graduation degree under 10+2+4 or 10+2+3 or 10+1+4 system. To pursue a Ph.D. candidate should have a minimum age of 21 years.
