HPNLET NLU Syllabus 2024 Exam Duration, marks
The Himachal Pradesh National Law Entrance Test (HPNLET) is a law entrance examination conducted by the Himachal Pradesh National Law University (HPNLU) for admission into its undergraduate and postgraduate law programs.
The duration of the HPNLET exam is 2 hours (120 minutes). The exam consists of 150 multiple choice questions (MCQs) for undergraduate programs and 100 MCQs for postgraduate programs. Each question carries one mark, and there is no negative marking for wrong answers.

- Age Limit: Candidates should be below 20 Years of age in case of Unreserved/NRI/NRI Sponsored categories, and below 22 Years in case of SC/ST/ SAP categories as on 1st July 2020
- Educational Qualification: The Candidates Should be Passed in 10+2 or equivalent examination with a minimum of 50% marks in case of candidates
belonging to Unreserved/OBC/Specially Abled Person (SAP)/NRI/NRI Sponsored Categories/Kashmiri Migrants, and 45% marks in case of candidates belonging to SC/ST
Categories.
LL.M (One Year Programme):
- Educational Qualification: The candidate Should Qualify for LL.B. 3 Years/5 Years or equivalent degree with a minimum of 55 percent marks in the case of Unreserved/OBC/SAP categories and 50 percentage in case of SC/ST Categories. Students appearing in the qualifying exam in April/May 2021 are also eligible to apply.
Ph.D. Programme:
- Educational Qualification: The applicant Should Pass the LL.M. or equivalent Degree with a min of 55 percent marks. Candidates appearing in the qualifying exam in April/May 2021 are also eligible to apply.
