About the SIDTM
The idea of the Symbiosis Institute of Digital & Telecom Management came up during the visit to Dr. Mujumdar’s office by the General Manager of Pune Telecom, Mr. Vijay Paranjpe. During the course of the conversation, he mentioned that the field of Telecommunications was soon going to open up & India was certain to see the arrival of international players like AT & T, Ericsson & others. He pointed out that the new economy would be thirsty for competent managers with a technical background & therefore suggested that Symbiosis consider establishing special courses for telecom personnel.
On the basis of past experience, Dr. Mujumdar decided to start a 2 year Post Graduate Programme in Telecom Management. Initially, it seemed logical to conduct this new program under the aegis of the Symbiosis Institute of Computer Studies & Research (SICSR).
