HORTICET 2024 Counselling Eligibility

HORTICET (Horticulture Common Entrance Test) is a state-level entrance exam conducted by Dr YSR Horticulture University, Andhra Pradesh, for admission into undergraduate courses in horticulture.

After the HORTICET results are declared, the university conducts a counselling process for qualified candidates. To be eligible for HORTICET counselling, a candidate must meet the following criteria:

  1. The candidate must have qualified for the HORTICET exam by securing the minimum qualifying marks.
  2. The candidate must have completed their 10+2 education in the Science stream, with Agriculture/Horticulture as one of the subjects.
  3. The candidate must have secured a minimum of 40% marks in the qualifying examination (for General category) and 35% marks (for SC/ST/PH categories).
  4. The candidate must meet the age criteria set by the university. The minimum age limit is 17 years, and the maximum age limit is 22 years (for General category) and 25 years (for SC/ST/PH categories) as of 31st December of the admission year.
  5. The candidate must satisfy the local/non-local status requirement as per the Andhra Pradesh Educational Institutions (Regulations of Admission) Order, 1974.
  6. The candidate must produce all the required documents, such as HORTICET rank card, admit card, educational certificates, and identity proof, at the time of counselling.
