In the Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering, there are 27 papers namely AE, AG, AR, BT, CE, CH, CS, CY, EC, EE, EY, GG, IN, MA, ME, MN, MT, PE, PH, PI, TF, XE, XL, BM, ES, XH. Key highlights of GATE 2022

• Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering (GATE 2022) is organized by IIT Guwahati. It will be used for two things. One will be to determine merit for admission to PG (Master and Doctoral) with MHRD and government scholarships/assistantships. The second will be for PSU recruitment.
• Test centers of GATE 2022 have been identified in India as well as abroad.
• Courses offered for postgraduation include that engineering, technology, architecture, science.
• In addition, the GATE score, which is valid for 3 years, will also be used for PSU recruitment.

GATE 2022 Eligibility

GATE 2022 Eligibility – must check before applying. There is no age limit.

A candidate must be eligible in order to get admission on basis of a GATE score. Primarily, eligibility criteria consist of educational qualification and year of qualifying. IIT Guwahati informs eligibility criteria; see below. Note that there is no age limit in the GATE exam 2022.

Important

• Candidates from Bangladesh, Ethiopia, Nepal, Singapore, Sri Lanka, and the United Arab Emirates are required to have either completed or be in the final year of a Bachelor’s degree in Engineering/Technology or a Post-graduate (M.Sc.) degree in any relevant science subject.

Organizing Institute and Official Website

There are 23 IITs in India, and one IISc. GATE exam organizing responsibility is taken by them on a rotational basis. IIT Guwahati, will hold GATE 2022. This institute has the responsibility of conducting GATE exam 2022 for M.Tech admission 2018-2019 and is hereby referred to as Organizing Institute. List of papers in GATE 2022 Exam

Annually, more than 9 lakh candidates apply to appear for the test in which they have to select one of the 27 papers. The subject as per the code is mentioned that the candidate also has to mention in the application form. The papers included are as follows:-

Financial Assistance

Colleges supported by MHRD or other govt agencies offer financial assistance against valid GATE scores. MHRD scholarship/assistance can be based either only on GATE score or GATE along with interview and institute test. A number of students who get financial assistance after getting admission to an institute depend on the institute. Apart from that also there are fellowships by government organizations.

PSU Recruitment Through GATE

Public Sector Undertakings (PSU) offer employment on the GATE score. Important organizations that do so include IOCL, NTPC, ONGC, Power Grid.

GATE 2022 Application Form

To apply for the GATE examination candidate will visit www.gate.iitg.ac.in. In the online application form at GOAPS they will furnish their basic details and also upload their recently taken photograph, signature, thumb impression along with other relevant documents.

The valid document accepted include be graduation certificates, category certificates. Once all these details are verified by the candidate, an integrated payment gateway shall open. You may be required to pay the fee through net banking or debit card or e-challan. Pick any suitable mode. The institute also allows you to check the status of your application. The following may be displayed on the computer screen: Received, Under Scrutiny, Accepted, Defect Status, Status after Rectification, Rejected with Valid Reasons, Admit Card Ready for Download. Application fees

Payment for the application fee will be online. Candidates who are submitting the application form must pay the application fee amount in order to complete the form submission. Forms submitted without fee are not accepted.

Center in India

Female candidates have to pay Rs 750. SC, ST, PwD candidates have to pay Rs 750. All other candidates will pay Rs 1500.

Center outside India

All candidates who have opted for centers outside India will pay US $ 100 to appear in the exam. Centers available outside India are Addis Ababa (Ethiopia), Colombo (Sri Lanka), Dhaka (Bangladesh), Dubai (UAE), Kathmandu (Nepal), and Singapore.

GATE 2022 Syllabus

Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering 2021 is a computer-based test. Examination schedule indicating paper (discipline) date is decided by the exam conducting body. GATE Exam Pattern 2024

GATE is computer-based (CBT). The questions asked are mostly fundamental, concept-based, and thought-provoking.

GOAPS

GATE Online Application Processing System is a portal where aspirants apply, download admit cards, check results. Here they can also check application status. Enrolment ID, registration ID, and date of birth are login credentials for GOAPS. For GATE 2022, GOAPS is at the IIT Guwahati website of GATE exam at gate.iitg.ac.in. GATE 2022 Admit Card

Admit cards shall be issued through the medium of GOAPS in the 8th week of January 2022. It is required to bring a printed copy of the admit card to the test center along with the original identification card. You may bring any one of the following:-

• Passport, Voter ID, PAN Card, Aadhaar UID, Employee identification card, Valid College ID or Driving License is valid.
• For International candidates, ONLY a valid Passport/ Government issued ID/College ID/ Employee ID is valid.

GATE 2022 Answer Key

IIT Guwahati is to release the answer key of 23 papers after the exam. Students who will have appeared can check the answer key of GATE 2022 to know the correct answers. Considering that this is a computer-based test, answer keys come as question paper with answer form. It can be viewed online. Read more about answer key of GATE 2022 here.

GATE 2022 Result

Candidates will get marks for the correct answers, and marks will get deducted for incorrect answers. By doing this, a raw score is arrived at. The raw score is converted to a normalized score using the GATE score formula. The result of GATE 2021 will indicate score and rank. Usually, a score is important for admission and recruitment. Once you have decided to appear for the GATE exam, preparation needs to begin. An effective strategy to prepare for GATE is when you are clear on the three points.

1. Which paper do you wish to appear for, and whether you are eligible for the same.
2. Know the syllabus for GATE.
3. Have a clear plan of action for GATE preparation.

Determine the eligibility and go through the syllabus. A good plan for GATE exam preparation must have the following points.

• Study hours– Study at least 5 hours every day. Divide your time between studying theory, practicing questions, and solving mock tests.
• Books– Refer to the important books for GATE preparation.
• Question papers– For self-analysis, and understanding the level of difficulty as well as the examination pattern, go through last year’s papers. GATE Papers of past years of all subjects are available online.
