About DAVV

Devi Ahilya Vishwavidyalaya was known as University of Indore established in 1964 by an Act of Legislature of Madhya Pradesh. In 1988, the university was renamed after the Holkar Maharani ‘Devi Ahilya Bai Holkar’ of the Maratha Empire as ‘Devi Ahilya Vishwavidyalaya’. Devi Ahilya University (informally abbreviated DAVV) is a State University whose jurisdiction was initially restricted to Indore city.

DAVV is the only University in Madhya Pradesh accredited A+ Grade by NAAC. It was ranked 67 best university in India and in 150-200 band by National Institutional Ranking Framework (NIRF) in 2018 and 45 in the pharmacy ranking.
