The Indian Institute of Plantation Management Bangalore (IIPMB) follows a negative marking scheme for its PGDM (Post Graduate Diploma in Management) program entrance exam.
According to the IIPMB PGDM entrance exam pattern, each question carries one mark, and there is a negative marking of 0.25 marks for each incorrect answer. Therefore, for every wrong answer, 0.25 marks will be deducted from the total score.
For example, if a candidate attempts 100 questions in the exam, and out of them, 70 answers are correct, and 30 answers are incorrect, the candidate’s total score would be calculated as follows:
Total score = (70 * 1) – (30 * 0.25) = 70 – 7.5 = 62.5 marks
So, it is essential for the candidates to answer the questions carefully and only attempt those questions they are sure about to avoid losing marks due to negative marking.
