About COMEDK 2024

COMEDK stands for Consortium of Medical, Engineering, and Dental Colleges of Karnataka. It is an autonomous organization established by the Karnataka Professional Colleges Foundation Trust to conduct entrance exams for admission to various undergraduate and postgraduate courses in the member institutions in Karnataka.

The organization comprises of over 190 engineering colleges, 42 dental colleges, and 12 medical colleges in the state of Karnataka. COMEDK conducts the Undergraduate Entrance Test (UGET) for admission to engineering and architecture courses, and the Post Graduate Entrance Test (PGET) for admission to postgraduate medical and dental courses in the member institutions.

COMEDK has gained a reputation for its efficient conduct of entrance exams and counseling process and is considered as one of the premier organizations in the state of Karnataka for entrance exams in the field of engineering, medical and dental education.

COMEDK PGET 2024 Eligibility Criteria

As COMEDK PGET 2023 has been discontinued. However, admission to postgraduate medical and dental courses in the member institutions of COMEDK in the state of Karnataka is now done through NEET-PG and NEET MDS, respectively.

For NEET-PG, the eligibility criteria are as follows:

• Candidates must have an MBBS degree or a provisional MBBS pass certificate from a recognized medical college or institute.
• They must have completed their one-year compulsory rotating internship on or before March 31 of the admission year.
• They must possess a permanent or provisional registration certificate of MBBS qualification issued by the Medical Council of India (MCI) or the State Medical Council (SMC).

For NEET MDS, the eligibility criteria are as follows:

• Candidates must have a BDS degree or a provisional BDS pass certificate from a recognized dental college or institute.
• They must have completed their one-year compulsory rotating internship on or before March 31 of the admission year.
• They must possess a permanent or provisional registration certificate of BDS qualification issued by the Dental Council of India (DCI) or the State Dental Council (SDC).

• The duration of the exam is for NEET PG-3 hours 30 minutes and NEET MDS- 3 hours.

COMEDK PGET 2024 Counselling

As COMEDK PGET has been discontinued, the counselling process for the exam is no longer applicable. However, for admission to postgraduate medical and dental courses in the member institutions of COMEDK in the state of Karnataka through NEET-PG and NEET MDS, respectively, the counselling process is conducted by the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) and the State Counselling Authorities.

The counselling process usually involves the following steps:

1. Online Registration: Candidates have to register themselves online for the counselling process by filling in their personal details, academic details, and other relevant information.
2. Choice Filling: Candidates have to choose their preferred colleges and courses based on their NEET-PG/NEET MDS rank and availability of seats.
