The National Institute of Unani Medicine has announced the dates for PGCET (Post Graduate Entrance Test) 2020. The NIUM PGCET 2021 has been scheduled for September 2021. The exam is conducted for admissions to MD/MS/Diploma Courses in Medical subjects for the state quota seats in Karnataka Government colleges and institutions and Karnataka Government quota seats in private medical colleges/institutions/deemed universities within the state of Karnataka, for the academic year 2020-21.

About National Institute of Unani Medicine (NIUM)

National Institute of Unani Medicine (NIUM) Time Table: Unani Medicine has a long and impressive record in India. It has not only catered to the medical needs of millions of people but also gained a prominent place amongst the various systems of medicine practiced in India and elsewhere. To promote this system at large, National Institute of Unani Medicine (NIUM) was established in 1984 as an autonomous organization under the Department of AYUSH, Ministry of Health & Family welfare and registered under the Karnataka Societies Act, 1960.

However, academic activities were started in the year 2004 after the admission of the first batch of students. This institute is being developed as a model of postgraduate, teaching, training, and research in Unani Medicine. This institute is spread over 55 acres of land. The campus now houses an Administrative Block, Academic Block, Hospital Building, Hostel, Pharmacy, Library, Herbal garden, Indoor games hall, Guesthouse, Animal House, and several other units. From a humble beginning, NIUM has come a long way and developed as an apex Institute of National and International standards with the following aims and objective including

(1) To promote the growth and development of Unani Medicine.

(2) To undertake research in various subjects of Unani Medicine and provide training in teaching and research at P.G. level.

(3) To produce postgraduates in all the subjects of Unani Medicine.

(4). to conduct experiments and develop patterns of teaching post-graduate education in all subjects of Unani medicine.

(5) To provide medical care through the Unani System of Medicine to the suffering of humanity.

NIUM MD MS 2021 Eligibility Criteria

A Candidate must have obtained the Kamile Tib o Jarahat ( BUMS ) degree or any other degree in Unani Medicine as recognized by CCIM and must have completed 06 months / 12 months internship/house job as the case may be, on or before September 2020 i.e. the last date for applying for MD ( Unani ) through Online. The right of admission of any candidate, who has not completed the internship by  September 2017, stands automatically canceled and no further correspondence shall be entertained in this regard.

NIUM 2021 Entrance Test Application Fee Details

The candidate has to strictly follow the instructions given below for payment of NIUM Entrance Examination Fees.

1. NIUM MD MS Unani Entrance Test Fees payment has to be made through Challan System ( Form 1 ) in State Bank of India Branch only.
2. The Challan can be downloaded from the website www.nium.in or nium.logisys.org
3. The receipt of the Challan in original for payment of requisite fees duly signed and sealed by the SBI Branch has to be attached along with the application form compulsorily.
4. In case of nonattachment of the challan receipt against the payment of fee, the application shall be summarily rejected.
5. The details of fees to be paid inclusive of Bank charges are as under :
   • General  2050/-
   • OBC  2050/-
   • GOI Nominee / In-Service  2050/-
   • SC / ST Category 1050/-
   • PWD Category 1050/-
