About LSAT 2023

The LSAT—India is modeled on the LSAT which is used as an admissions criterion by over 200 law schools globally including Harvard, Columbia, Melbourne, Toronto (Western Ontario). The LSAT has evolved over the last 60 years to become the gold standard to uniformly evaluate applicants in areas critical to complete legal education and thereafter career in law. LSAT—India is a special version of the LSAT test to meet the Indian requirement to admit school-leaving (Grade XII) students to the 5-year integrated BA LLB / BBA LLB law program and graduates to the 3-year law program.

LSAT 2023 Eligibility Criteria

• BA LLB course: Candidate must pass the 10+2 or equivalent exam from a recognized board and must obtain the minimum 45% marks.
• LLB courses: Candidates should have a bachelor’s degree in any subject and must score the minimum 45% marks in aggregate in the qualifying exam.
• LLM course: Candidates should have passed 3 years of LLB or 5 years of BA. LL.B program and must secure 45% marks in aggregate. Appearing candidates can also apply.

Age Limit

There are no specific eligibility criteria for LSAT. Anyone who has completed or is about to complete their undergraduate degree can take the test.

LSAT Application Form 2023

Candidates need to register online for the LSAT—India on the website. Online Registrations will close on 26 May 2023. Pearson VUE will not accept registrations from candidates in any other mode or form. The Online payment acceptance confirmation will be sent by automated mail only. Pearson VUE shall not be held responsible for non-receipt of confirmation e-mails due to incorrect e-mail addresses entered by the applicant or due to any technical problems.

LSAT Application Process

• Create an LSAC account: The first step to apply for the LSAT is to create an account on the Law School Admission Council (LSAC) website.
• Register for the LSAT: Once you have created an account, you can register for the LSAT on the LSAC website. You will need to select a test date and location.
• Submit your application: After registering for the LSAT, you will need to complete your application by submitting personal and academic information, including your transcript(s).

Note: There is no negative marking or penalty for Response in the OMR Sheet. Only correct answers contribute to a candidate’s score. Therefore, candidates should leave no question unanswered and guess on those questions they cannot carefully consider.

LSAT 2023 Syllabus

1. Reading Comprehension: This section measures your ability to read, understand, and analyze complex texts similar to those you will encounter in law school. The passages can be from various subjects such as science, social science, humanities, and law.
2. Analytical Reasoning: This section is also known as the logic games section. It measures your ability to understand and analyze complex relationships and draw logical inferences from them. This section consists of four sets of logic games, with each set having four to seven questions.
3. Logical Reasoning: This section measures your ability to analyze and evaluate arguments. It assesses your ability to read and analyze arguments, draw inferences, identify flaws, and apply logic to new situations. This section has two parts, with 24-26 questions in each part.

How to Prepare LSAT 2023
