About Himachal Pradesh Board of School Education
The HP Board (HPBOSE) came into existence in 1969 as per Himachal Pradesh Act No. 14 of 1968. The headquarter of HPBOSE is at Shimla and later shifted to Dharamshala in January 1983. The HP Board started with 34 members who have subsequently increased to 438 staff. Kultar Chand Rana from Kangra was the chairman. The Himachal Pradesh Board of School Education Board prescribes syllabus, courses of instructions and all courses textbooks for the gov and private schools affiliated with the board.
