About Kerala Engineering Agriculture Medical

KEAM is conducted by the Commissioner of Entrance Examination (CEE), Kerala. It is also known as the Combined Entrance Examination (CEE). Previously this examination was conducted for admission in engineering, medical, agriculture & many other courses. From 2016 onwards, the KEAM exam was organized for admission in engineering courses only. For admission in medical and allied health science courses including agriculture, a candidate must qualify the NEET exam and for architecture course, candidates have to clear the NATA exam. According to the rank of Kerala list and it is CAP (Centralized Allotment Process) for Engineering and Medical department that will be complete by the CEE (Commissioner for Entrance Examinations), in Kerala.

KEAM Application Form

  • KEAM Registration 2021 will be done by both online and offline mode. Applicants can avail the application form from the first week of January 2021.
  • Applicants are advised to do not fill more than one application form. Candidates have to upload their scanned photo, thumb impression, and signature in a prescribed format.
  • Candidates are required to send the printed & filled application form along with required documents to the address mentioned below:

Application Fee

The application fee will be Rs. 1000 for General and Rs. 500 for SC. The application fee can be paid either with Security Card which can be purchased from the selected Post Office or by the Demand Draft (DD). The DD should be drawn from a Nationalized/Scheduled Bank, in favor of the Commissioner for Entrance Examinations, payable at Thiruvananthapuram. There is no application fee for ST candidates.

KEAM 2021 Eligibility Criteria

Applicants have to check their eligibility criteria for the courses they are applying:

Nationality: Only Indian citizens are eligible to apply. Persons of Indian Origins (PIO) /Overseas Citizen of India (OCI) can also apply for the examination. Students belong to Kerala state are categorized as Keralite, Non-Keralite category I and Non-Keralite Category II.

Age Limit: Candidates must complete their age of 17 years as or on 31st December of the year of admission. There is no upper age limit.

Qualification: Candidates seeking admission in engineering courses must have passed 12th or equivalent exam from any recognized board. The Candidate must have obtained minimum 50% marks in PCM subjects. It is necessary to score 50% marks in mathematics individually. Students appearing in the Higher Secondary examination are also eligible to apply.

KEAM Exam Pattern

The KEAM 2020 Exam Pattern is as follow, The examination will be conducted in pen & paper-based mode. The exam will be held in two papers. The total duration is 5 hours, i.e. two and a half hours for each paper. The question paper will be consist of objective type questions.  Each paper will contain 120 Questions. Four marks will be awarded for the correct response. One mark will be deducted for each wrong answer.

Syllabus

The syllabus for the KEAM examination is prescribed by CEE. The standard of the examination will be of 10+2 or equivalent exam. The detailed syllabus is listed below.

Mathematics: Algebra, Logarithms, Matrices, Trigonometry, Coordinate Geometry, 3-Dimensional Coordinate geometry, Theory of Calculus, Application of Calculus, Permutation and combination, Statistics and Probability.

Physics: Introduction and Measurement, description of motion in one dimension, description of motion in two and three dimensions, laws of motion, work, energy and power, heat and thermodynamics, motion of system of particles and rigid body rotation, gravitation, mechanics of solids and fluids, oscillations, waves, electrostatics, current electricity, magnetic effect of current and magnetism, electromagnetic induction and alternating current, optics, dual nature of matter and radiations, atomic nucleus, solids and semiconductor devices.

Chemistry: Basic concepts and atomic structure, bonding and molecular structure, states of matter, periodic properties of elements and hydrogen, thermodynamics, chemical equilibrium, solutions, redox reactions and electrochemistry, chemical kinetics, surface chemistry, stereochemistry, Organic Chemistry, basic principles, purification and characterization of organic compounds, hydrocarbons, organic reaction mechanism, polymers and biomolecules, environmental chemistry and chemistry in everyday life.

How to Prepare

  • Planning and Hard work are very important for every exam. Firstly, make a timetable for your studies according to the syllabus.
  • Manage your time as per the subjects mentioned in the syllabus. Choose the right study material available in the market or on the internet.
  • Practice from previous year question papers it will help you to understand the exam pattern, important topics and type of questions asked.
  • Prepare notes and gather the information that you feel important or tough.
  • To prepare well for the examination, you have to take care of your health. Take the nutritious diet and do exercise and yoga to stay fit. Motivate yourself until you reach the goal.

Answer Key

The answer key of KEAM 2021 is the document which helps the candidates to determine their performance in the examination and make sure that how much marks will be their score. It is expected that the KEAM 2021 Answer Key will be published after a few days of the commencement of the examination. All the applicants will be able to check their answer key at the official web page.

Candidates will able to verify and cross-check their answers with the help of the answer key. If there is any complaints are there from the side of candidates, regarding KEAM 2021 Answer Key, they have to pay rupees 100 per each question before the last date. The fee which is mentioned above must be paid through DD in favor of CEE and which should be payable at Trivandrum.

Admit Card

The Admit Card of KEAM 2021 is one of the most important materials to take care of in order to appear in KEAM 2021. The Admit Card of KEAM 2021 will be available online at the official web page of KEAM only. It is expected that the KEAM 2021 Admit Card will be available in the last week of March 2021. All the candidates who have done the submission of Application Form will be able to download the KEAM 2021 Admit Card by providing their Date of Birth and Application Number.

Candidates will not be able to access their Admit Cards through offline mode. That means no candidates will be getting their KEAM 2021 Admit Cards to send through the post. Each Admit Card will be included with details such as Exam Venue, Time and Date of the Examination, etc. All the candidates are advised to look at the credentials provided in Admit Card and make sure that all of those are correct.

Result

It is expected that the result of KEAM 2021 will be declared by CEE in the 3rd week of Sep 2021. All the applicants will be able to view their results online, from the official web page of KEAM/ CEE. On the scores/ marks obtained by candidates in the examination, the examination conducting authority will prepare a separate merit list for all courses. The above-mentioned merit list will be prepared on a 50:50 basis. The 50:50 basis means that 50% will stand for marks obtained in the KEAM test and the other 50% marks will stand for marks obtained in the qualifying examination.

Counseling

The counseling process of KEAM 2021 will begin after the declaration of the merit list of the same. The seat allocation process of KEAM 2021 will be done under CAP (Centralised Allotment Process). The seat allotment for each student will be done in an SWS (Single Window System). All the aspirants will be asked to choose their stream and colleges according to their choice of interest. Candidates will be getting seats allotted on the basis of their choice of interest, availability of seats at the chosen college. All the candidates who are getting seats allotted must present at their allotted college to finish the process of admission.
