The official notification for ILICAT 2023 is released in Official website. The last date to submit the application is 21st April 2023 for Ph.D. & LLM Programs. The ILICAT 2023 exam will be conducted on 7th May 2023

ILICAT 2024 Eligibility Criteria

• Ph.D. in Law:
  • Candidate must complete LL.M. Degree from a recognized university with a minimum of 55% marks is eligible to apply.
  • The application form completes in all respect along with a brief Research Plan shall be submitted for admission.
• LL.M. – One Year:
  • Candidate must complete LL.B. Degree with not less than 50% marks from any University / Institution recognized by Bar Council of India as eligible. or
• P.G. Diploma: 
  • Minimum qualification is Graduate Degree from a recognized University.
  • Additional 5% marks will be given to Law Graduates/CA/CMA/CS.

Age Limit

There is no age limit proposed by the university, but the candidate has to follow authority norms for the application ILICAT 2023.

• Login using the credentials sent to your registered email ID and complete the application form by providing personal details, academic qualifications, and other relevant information.
• Upload scanned copies of your recent passport-size photograph, signature, and other documents as required.
• Pay the application fee online through net banking, credit card, or debit card.
• Submit the completed application form and take a printout of the confirmation page for future reference.

ILICAT 2024 Syllabus

1. Jurisprudence and Legal Theory: Nature and sources of law, schools of jurisprudence, legal concepts, rights and duties, legal reasoning, and interpretation.
2. Constitutional Law: Constitution of India, fundamental rights and duties, directive principles of state policy, center-state relations, emergency provisions, and constitutional amendments.
3. Criminal Law: Indian Penal Code, Code of Criminal Procedure, and Indian Evidence Act.
4. Commercial Law: Contract Act, Sales of Goods Act, Negotiable Instruments Act, Companies Act, and Partnership Act.
5. International Law: International law and municipal law, sources of international law, state recognition, state responsibility, and dispute resolution.
6. Intellectual Property Rights: Copyright, trademarks, patents, and designs.
7. Law of Torts: Nature and kinds of torts, negligence, nuisance, defamation, and remedies for torts.
8. Family Law: Marriage and divorce, maintenance, adoption, and succession.
9. Cyber Law: Information technology law, electronic contracts, cybercrimes, and digital signatures.
10. Human Rights Law: Universal declaration of human rights, human rights and Indian constitution, and human rights and international law.

How to prepare ILICAT 2024

• Make small daily targets, weekly targets and revise the subject or topic as many times as possible until you are perfect on that. The best source is to refer the past question papers and practice those model papers.
• Motivation and planning in the study are mandatory.
• For good motivation visit coaching centers and motivate yourself.
• Mark the questions that we feel important or tough. Have to improve faith in yourself. When we refer to the previous question papers then we automatically know the important topics and type of the questions

LLM Admission Program with Weightage

• Test Duration -2.5 hours
• Objective type questions – Each question will carry one mark.
• Subjective type questions – Each question will be of 10 marks.
• Negative marking – 0.25 marks will be deducted.

ILICAT 2024 Admit Card

• The ILICAT 2023 admit card will be released on 1st May 2023.
• Candidates can download the admit card from the official website of the Indian Law Institute.
• To download the admit card, candidates need to enter their login credentials such as registration number and date of birth.
• It is mandatory for candidates to carry the admit card to the exam center on the day of the exam, along with a valid photo ID proof.

ILICAT 2024 Results

• The ILICAT 2023 results are announced 29th May 2023.
• Candidates can check their results on the official website of the Indian Law Institute.
• To check the results, candidates need to enter their login credentials such as registration number and date of birth.
• The results will include the candidate’s score and rank in the exam.
• Based on the results, candidates will be shortlisted for the personal interview round.

ILICAT 2024 Counselling

Students who have cleared the earlier rounds of GD and viva- voce will be invited to the counseling process. Counselling will be conducted in 3 rounds on the basis of the merit list. The counseling process for ILICAT usually takes place in the month of July.
