About IISER 2024

Indian Institutes of Science Education and Research is a group of premier institutions in India dedicated to scientific research and education in basic sciences. The IISERs were established by the Government of India in 2006 to promote quality scientific education, research, and innovation.

There are currently seven IISERs located in different parts of India, namely IISER Pune, IISER Kolkata, IISER Mohali, IISER Bhopal, IISER Tirupati, IISER Berhampur, and IISER Thiruvananthapuram. These institutes offer undergraduate, postgraduate, and doctoral programs in various disciplines of basic sciences such as Biology, Chemistry, Mathematics, Physics, and Earth Sciences.The IISERs also offer various fellowships and scholarships to meritorious students to encourage them to pursue careers in basic sciences.

IISER Exam Dates 2024

The official notification for IISER 2023 is released in Official website. The last date to submit the application is May 25, 2023. The IISER 2023 entrance exam will be conducted on June 17, 2023

IISER 2024 Eligibility Criteria

• Passed class 12th with 60% marks in aggregate or equivalent grade for GEN/OBC/OBC-NCL and 55% marks in aggregate or equivalent grade for SC/ST/PWD in class 12th or equivalent exam.

• IAT Channel
  • Candidates seeking admission through this channel must appear for a computer-based IISER Aptitude Test(IAT-2023).
  • IAT-2023 will be conducted on Saturday, June 17, 2023 at 9:00 AM, at various centres across the country.
• KVPY Channel
  • For the KVPY channel, the applicant must have a valid fellowship and should obtain the basic cut off marks.
  • Candidates in the extended KVPY merit list are not eligible.
  • Candidates seeking admission under this channel do not have to appear for IAT-2023.
• JEE Channel
  • Candidates seeking admission under JEE channel should have qualified in the JEE (Advanced) in the year 2023, AND should have a rank within 15000 in the common rank list or in the respective category rank lists (GEN-EWS/OBC-NCL/SC/ST/PwD).
  • Those who qualified JEE (Advanced) in any year other than 2023 are not eligible.
  • Candidates seeking admission under this channel do not have to appear for IAT-2023.

Note– Admission of candidates in the 5 years BS-MS dual degree programme offered by IISER Entrance test, KVPY and JEE (Advanced). Admission through KVPY and JEE (Advanced) starts soon.

Age Limit

There is no age limit proposed by the university, but the candidate has to follow authority norms for the application IISER 2023.

IISER Application Process

The application process for IISER is available on the Official Website. To apply for admission to an IISER, you need to follow these general steps:

1. Visit the official website of the IISER you wish to apply to.
2. Look for the “Admissions” or “Academics” tab on the website and click on it.
3. Look for the application form link and click on it.
4. Fill in the required details such as personal information, educational qualifications, etc.
5. Upload scanned copies of your photograph and signature as per the specified format and size.
6. Pay the application fee through the online payment gateway provided.
7. Submit the application form online.

After submitting the online application form, you will receive a confirmation email or SMS with your application number. You can use this number to track the status of your application later.

How to Prepare IAT 2024

The IISER Aptitude Test (IAT) is an entrance exam conducted by the Indian Institutes of Science Education and Research (IISERs) for admission to their BS-MS dual degree program. Here are some tips on how to prepare for the IAT:

1. Understand the exam pattern: The IAT consists of multiple-choice questions from Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, and Biology. Understanding the exam pattern and syllabus is the first step towards preparation.
2. Create a study plan: Plan your study schedule according to your strengths and weaknesses. Allocate more time to subjects/topics that you find difficult.
3. Study from standard textbooks: Refer to standard textbooks and study materials for each subject. Make notes and highlight important concepts and formulas.
4. Practice with mock tests: Practice with previous years’ question papers and take mock tests regularly to improve your speed and accuracy. This will also help you understand the type of questions asked in the exam.
5. Solve numerical problems: Mathematics and Physics have a significant weightage in the IAT. Practice solving numerical problems to improve your problem-solving skills.

IAT 2024 Admit Card

Candidates will be able to get the IISER 2023 Aptitude Test admit card through online mode from the website. The admit card will be released June 10, 2023. candidates who have successfully submitted their application form within the time frame. Admit card will contain exam schedule, exam center details, candidate’s roll number, etc.

IAT 2024 Results

The IISER 2023 Entrance exam Results will be available from July 3, 2023, in online mode. Here are the general steps to check the results:

1. Visit the official website of the IISER you have applied to.
2. Look for the “Admissions” or “Academics” tab on the website and click on it.
3. Look for the “Results” or “Merit List” link and click on it.
4. Enter your login credentials such as application number and password or date of birth as per the instructions given.
5. Your result or merit list will appear on the screen.
6. Check your name, roll number, and other details on the result or merit list.
7. Download and take a printout of the result or merit list for future reference.

IISER 2024 Counselling

The Candidates have to register for counseling on the official website after successfully clearing the IISER 2023 Entrance Exam. The 50% seats of IISERs Institutions will be filled on the basis of JEE Advanced & KVPY scores. The counseling process involves document verification, seat allotment, and fee payment.

The counseling process is usually conducted in multiple rounds based on the availability of seats and the number of qualified candidates. Candidates are required to register for counseling and choose their preferred institute and course based on their rank in the merit list.

The final admission to the IISERs is subject to verification of all the documents and fulfillment of the eligibility criteria.
