About GPAT 2023

GPAT is national level entrance exam for admission to M. Pharmacy. GPAT score is also used for awarding scholarships and financial assistance to pharmacy graduates pursuing their higher studies. The GPAT score is accepted by all AICTE approved institutions and universities and is also used for awarding scholarships and other financial assistance to pharmacy students.

The GPAT 2023 Exam Notification is released in the official website of NTA. Recently NTA has extended the application date from 6th March 2023 to 13 March 2023.

GPAT 2023 Eligibility Criteria

The candidate must hold a bachelor’s degree in pharmacy (4 years after 10+2, including lateral entry students) or equivalent from a recognized university. Candidates appearing for the final year of bachelor’s degree Pharmacy are also eligible.

Age Limit

There is no age restriction for appearing GPAT 2023.

GPAT Application Process

To fill the GPAT application form, candidates need to follow the below-mentioned steps:

• Visit the official website of NTA GPAT.
• Click on the “Fill Online Application Form” button.
• Register by providing your basic details such as name, date of birth, mobile number, and email ID.
• After successful registration, log in using your system generated application number and password.
• Fill in the application form by providing your personal, educational, and contact details.
• Upload your scanned photograph and signature as per the prescribed format.
• Pay the application fee online using credit/debit card, net banking, or UPI.
• After successful payment, take a printout of the application form for future reference.

The syllabus for GPAT 2023 is as follows:

• Physical Chemistry: Structure of atoms, chemical bonding, states of matter, chemical kinetics, chemical thermodynamics, electrochemistry, solutions, surface chemistry.
• Organic Chemistry: Basic principles of organic chemistry, stereochemistry, reactive intermediates, reaction mechanism, aromaticity, organic reactions with mechanisms, name reactions, organic synthesis.
• Inorganic Chemistry: Periodic table, chemical bonding, main-group elements (s and p blocks), transition metals (d block), coordination chemistry.
• Pharmacology: General pharmacology, pharmacology of the peripheral nervous system, pharmacology of the central nervous system, pharmacology of cardiovascular system, pharmacology of drugs acting on the kidney, pharmacology of drugs acting on the respiratory system, pharmacology of drugs acting on the gastrointestinal tract, pharmacology of drugs acting on the endocrine system, chemotherapy.
• Pharmaceutics: Introduction to pharmacy, pharmacy profession and regulation, dosage forms, powders, capsules, tablets, parenteral preparations, ocular preparations, dermatological preparations, sustained-release dosage forms, novel drug delivery systems.
• Pharmacognosy: Introduction to pharmacognosy, classification of crude drugs, sources of crude drugs, techniques of microscopy, plant products, animal products, standardization of herbal drugs.
• Pharmaceutical Chemistry: Inorganic pharmaceuticals, medicinal chemistry of organic compounds, biochemistry, and clinical chemistry.
• Analytical Chemistry: Basics of analytical chemistry, water analysis, qualitative and quantitative analysis, acid-base titrations, complexometric titrations, redox titrations, gravimetry, polarimetry, refractometry.
