AIPVT 2024 Exam Papers & Subjects
AIPVT (All India Pre-Veterinary Test) is a national-level entrance exam conducted by the Veterinary Council of India (VCI) for admission to undergraduate veterinary programs in India. The exam is currently replaced by NEET (National Eligibility cum Entrance Test) which also includes the veterinary course in its syllabus.
Earlier, AIPVT exam comprised of one paper with 180 multiple choice questions (MCQs) from the following subjects:
- Physics – 45 MCQs
- Chemistry – 45 MCQs
- Biology (Botany and Zoology) – 90 MCQs
The exam duration was 3 hours and was conducted in English and Hindi.
The syllabus for AIPVT exam was based on the 10+2 level syllabus of Physics, Chemistry, and Biology of various education boards in India.
However, since AIPVT has been replaced by NEET, the syllabus for veterinary courses is now a part of the NEET syllabus. Hence, for the current syllabus, you can refer to the NEET exam pattern and syllabus.

AIPVT Syllabus 2024 Exam Duration, marks
The All India Pre-Veterinary Test (AIPVT) was last conducted in 2016, and has since been replaced by the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET) for admission to undergraduate veterinary courses in India.
However, to answer your question, the AIPVT exam was a pen and paper-based test with a duration of 3 hours. The question paper comprised 180 multiple-choice questions from Physics, Chemistry and Biology, with 45 questions from each subject. Each correct answer was awarded 4 marks, while 1 mark was deducted for each incorrect answer. The maximum marks for the exam were 720.
AIPVT 2024 Negative Marking Scheme
The AIPVT examination has a negative marking scheme. For every incorrect answer, one mark will be deducted from the total score. No marks will be deducted for unattempted questions or for questions that are left blank.
The marking scheme for AIPVT is as follows:
- For every correct answer, four marks will be awarded.
- For every incorrect answer, one mark will be deducted.

Is there any reservation policy for AIPVT?
Yes, there is a reservation policy for AIPVT. As per the policy, 15% of the total seats are reserved for Scheduled Caste (SC) candidates, 7.5% for Scheduled Tribe (ST) candidates, and 27% for Other Backward Classes (OBC) candidates.
